2021 California Extreme COVID-19 Requirements

California Extreme

COVID-19 Requirements

California Extreme is subject to the requirements of the State of California as a "mega-event."
See here for more details.
The following are California Extreme's requirements for entrance to the show:
Requirements for entering the show:
  • Proof of being fully vaccinated - the last shot must be at least two weeks or more before the show which in our case is October 2, 2021, or
  • Proof of a negative COVID-19 (PCR or Antigen) test administered within 72 hours of the show which in our case is October 13, 2021, and
  • A government-issued photo ID that we can use to cross check the proof.
  • You should not be showing any signs of infection (see here for a list).
  • You must wear a suitable mask (see below) over the mouth and nose the entire time.
We will look at the ID and provided proof to verify they are legitimate and belong to you. We will NOT keep or store any record of what you have shown us.
Following are more details on each of these requirements:
Vaccine or Test Verification
Vaccine Verification
People are considered fully vaccinated for COVID-19 two weeks or more after they have received the second dose in a 2-dose series (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna or other vaccine authorized by the World Health Organization), or two weeks or more after they have received a single-dose vaccine (Johnson and Johnson [J&J]/Janssen). Click here for more.
Options for providing proof of COVID-19 Vaccination:
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card (issued by the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control & Prevention or WHO Yellow Card1) which includes the name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided and date doses administered); OR
  • A photo of a vaccination card as a separate document; OR
  • A photo of the client's vaccine card stored on a phone or electronic device; OR
  • Documentation of vaccination from a healthcare provider; OR
  • Digital record that includes a QR code that when scanned by a SMART Health Card reader displays to the reader client name, date of birth, vaccine dates and vaccine type; OR
  • Documentation of vaccination from other contract employers who follow these vaccination records guidelines and standards.

Negative COVID-19 Test Verification
Testing must be conducted within 72 hours before the event start time (both PCR and Antigen tests are acceptable). Results of the test must be available prior to entry into the event venue. Note, the 72 hours is based on the time the test sample is taken, not when you receive the results.
The following are acceptable as proof of a negative COVID-19 test result:
  • A printed document from the test provider or laboratory, OR
  • An electronic test result displayed on a phone or other device from the test provider or laboratory.
  • The information should include the person's name, type of test performed, and negative test result. Click here for more.
Please make sure whatever test you take includes verifiable results. At-home tests will not be accepted as we cannot verify to whom they were administered, or if they were properly administered.
We will require that a government-issued photo ID be shown along with the vaccine record or test results so we can verify the document belongs to you. In the case of people with minors, the adults of the group will need to verify the identity of minors if such an ID is not available. We will need the vaccine record or test result for each individual in the group.
Please note that we will look at your documentation to ensure that the requirements are being followed. Once that is satisfied, we will issue your wristband which then will allow you to enter the show. We will NOT keep or store any record of what you have shown us in any form. The above is used to verify your eligibility to enter the show.
Other Requirements
People with COVID-19 Symptoms
If you are displaying COVID-19 symptoms (see here for a list), please do not enter the show.
We require that masks be worn at all times when attending the show. Masks must not have vents and must block light. Masks need to fit snugly against the face. Gaiters and bandannas are not allowed. The mask must be worn over your nose and mouth at all times. Failure to do so can result in termination of show privileges without refund. Since there is no eating or drinking in the show, the mask should be worn at all times. Click here for more.
California Extreme will have the final call on the acceptability of the mask worn. We will have acceptable masks available at cost at the show.
We understand that in limited cases a person may not be able to wear a mask. If you feel you are an exception, please contact us at info@caextreme.org in advance to discuss this.
Exceptions must be approved in advance and will not be made at the show.
California Extreme is committed to ensuring the safety of everyone at the show. The above policies were developed with that in mind and in accordance with state requirements (click here for more). For everyone's enjoyment, please adhere to our requirements.
