I'm really looking forward to going, this will be my first year. Is there a special guest planned? I missed out on Jarvis last year....
-
Jarvis was awesome. I wish the people that took the videos of his talk, as well as the Atari panel that followed him, would post them on their webspace for those that missed out. I saw at least 3 video cameras in action that day and have yet to see anyone link them, which is pretty sad actually.
Hey zf here are pictures Scott Evans has on his site that he took during the tallks and also of the show:

ZF, Chris is flying all the way from Maryland so I guess you can consider him a "special guest". Just try to reframe from asking him for an autograph since I hear he doesn't like people drawing attention to him ;D
In all seriousness, it's really hard to get some of these folks to commit this far in advance due to their busy schedule. As soon as we have something we'll definite post it. Thanks.

Woohoo! The infamous Chris Alcott, coming all the way from Maryland? I hope he'll let me take a picture with him. :)
-
Hah, yeah that Chris Alcott is a strange bird for sure ;) Tell you what....Get Steve Perry there to sign my marquee and I'll buy you a dedicated Major Havoc 8) Seriously....
-
Nice avatar pic! Well I don't know about Perry, but Owen Rubin might possibly show up. :)
-
Sure I'll have Mattroid sign any marquee you want for a Major Havoc ;)

Hey Steve, back on October 12 you asked if someone would host it and I said I would, but I never heard from you. Here's the post: CAX thread on KLOV (http://forums.webmagic.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=UBB3&Number=359507&Searchpage=5&Main=359395&Words=CAX&topic=&Search=true#Post359507)
And I'm still happy to host it. Send to: adminATataricadeDOTcom

Yeah, this year has been nuts so I never got around to capturing it. I'll try to get it captured tonight, and if you don't hear back soon, remind me again! ;D

Ok sounds good Steve, thanks!
-
I captured the footage tonight. It's about 15 minutes of Jarvis' talk. I'll convert it to a web-friendly format (likely tomorrow) and send it to you!
-
Cool Steve, thanks! Please send to adminATataricadeDOTcom. That addy can handle up to 97 MB.
Steve sent me a link to the video tonight, and I just posted about it here: Video of 2006 CAX Eugene Jarvis Talk (http://www.caextreme.org/forum/index.php?topic=14.0)
(thanks again Steve!)

Walter Day just told me in Vegas that he'd be at CA Extreme - be sure to pick up the new world record book if you see him!
-
I work at Official Xbox Magazine. I run into Ed Boon every so often, and I gave him a heads-up about this year's show some months back and invited him to come out, but didn't hear back from him.
I've also tried to encourage Roger Sharpe to show up, but last year his schedule didn't work out.
-
Hey, someone just posted the pic of Bill Carlton and the reference to "High Score".
Not sure if you read the other thread on the Film Festival, but we will be showing "High Score" in its entirety on Saturday afternoon. And, Bill Carlton will be in attendance for a Q&A!
So, he'll be there. Most of the efforts toward special guests have gone into our film preparations -- we will be showing "High Score" along with "Chasing Ghosts", "The King of Kong", and several short films.
