Eurocade 2011
« on: May 05, 2011, 01:10:16 pm »
Hi there !

I would like to share with the CAX community that , of course inspired by the idea of CAX, we organize a similar meeting in Europe.

It is called Eurocade and the goal is to make it en annual event.

The 2011 edition will be held on saturday september 3, 2011 from 10.00 till 0.00 hrs in Ridderkerk (near Rotterdam), The Netherlands.

Of course, the collecting community in Europe is (a lot) smaller, but still I think Eurocade 2011 is already looking to become a huge success. We have people attending from The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark and even as far away as Hungary !

About 35 machines will be there, and although nowhere near the numbers of CAX, the selection of games is absolutely top-notch !

The main difference with CAX is that it will not be totally open for the public, which has a lot to do with the location and goal of the meeting.

Anyway, you can find all the required information right here:

http://www.eurocade.eu

Please note, although we mostly mention "European" collectors, of course other collectors from around the globe are warmly welcome too should they happen to be in the neighborhood !

Thanks, André (Level42 on about all the arcade forums)

OK finished the Google Sketchup so far.

Well it was a LOT of work, but it was fun to do. I think it looks pretty impressive.
A lot of "shuffling around" was done to get an optimal situation. DO NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT SET IN STONE. In fact, I simply followed the list and added the cabs. It may very well be that we do a lot of Shuffling around. F.I. I think it might be cool to create a "Star Wars" area with the pin, cockpit and Trilogy together. Maybe we can also move the Pac machines together and the same for the Nintendo games. We'll see about it, I just wanted to know if everything will fit. So far, it looks like we have plenty of room, I placed the machines with some decent space between them.

I did go for the "best case" situation, i.e. all the "maybe" cabs are in there. Of course I couldn't find 3D models for some of the more obscure cabs, so I used something else and put the name above it.
